CFF is proud to debut this documentary created by students and faculty at the Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences. While Chattanooga is often touted as one of the best place to live in the U.S., CSAS shines a much-needed spotlight on the city’s forgotten homeless population.

WORK STICKS

This documentary follows the construction of a stick sculpture by internationally renowned artist Patrick Dougherty and the community members of an East Tennessee town. The film explores ephemerality, nature, and play, intertwining real and imagined stories from the sculptor, volunteers who helped build “Old Time Religion" in Johnson City, Tenn., and the children who played among its tree branches.

A choreographer pursues creative inspiration at a cottage retreat while attempting to wean her demanding toddler—and unknowingly awakens a vile fairy corpse in the process. When she discovers the creature’s terrifying intentions, she will have to put her creativity to good use to lure the repugnant beast.

Suzanne’s grief transcends the boundaries of the natural world and arouses a primordial being. She courts this ghost, using intellect and desire to forge a union between them. Quiver melds horror and passion with Virginia Woolf’s idea of a woman requiring a “room of her own” in which to uncover her true identity. Can Suzanne force a rift into the supernatural realm to build a space where she can coexist with what haunts her?

Each woman’s unique approach to board building reflects the way they navigate life’s obstacles—with resourcefulness and creativity.

Not willing to reveal a disfigured face, the beekeeper seeks a remedy through a mysterious chest of drawers, but the cure comes with a price—it must be bought in blood.

THE THINGS THAT UNITE US

When a young girl, Caroline, moves into a new house with her family, she encounters a poltergeist. This ghost isn’t malicious—just the playful soul of a 12-year-old girl, Elizabeth. Through the years, their friendship runs into obstacles, such as dealing with the pressures of Caroline growing up and maturing, and learning about Elizabeth’s hidden and dark past. But Caroline must delve into it if she’s to learn the truth about Elizabeth’s death.
